About the Israel Sailing Association

Sailing in Israel is one of the country’s most prominent and successful sports, bringing Israel its first Olympic gold medal when windsurfer Gal Fridman won at the Athens 2004 Olympic Games. Additionally, Israeli sailors have won two Olympic bronze medals and dozens of medals in World and European Championships at both senior and youth levels.

These remarkable achievements have made the athletes of the Israel Sailing Association excellent ambassadors for the country. The association leads and manages the competitive and professional aspects of sailing in Israel, with a particular focus on Olympic-class sailing.

The Israel Sailing Association is the sole national authority recognized by the Ministry of Culture and Sport, the Israeli Olympic Committee, and international institutions governing the sport.

Goals of the Israel Sailing Association:

  • Developing and promoting competitive sailing in Israel
  • Organizing and managing national and international sailing competitions
  • Establishing and training national teams and sending them to international competitions
  • Representing and maintaining relationships with international sailing organizations
